Tomorrow I work

I will try my best to fast the whole day, but I don't know if I will be able to. It sucks to feel so unsure, but I do. I'm worried abbout it... It has been hard enough for me these past 2 days and it was the weekend. The first day, I was only awake for about 7 hours of fasting. Today, I was awake for about 10 of them. Tomorrow I will wake up at 7am and work the whole day to then break the fast at nearly 8pm. If I stay awake the whole time, it's 13h of fasting. I think I might take a nap when I get back from work for 1h or so... So 12 hours of fasting awake. But it will also be harder because the others don't know and I don't plan on bringing it up. And I will be working so I need to feel at least OK. I barely talked to anyone or saw anyone this weekend because I've been feeling too weak. I saw a friend today but only until 2pm so it was kind of OK. If I could only work until 2pm, that would probably work out...

I really just hope I am strong enough to make it through and that my body allows me to do it.

Make sure to get up for suhoor and just drink tons of water. That should help keep you from suffering too much. I hope you can do it.

I second what Stacy said ... definitely do suhoor, otherwise it's going to be super hard. Day #1 of fasting was very hard for me, I felt sick and got a headache. I always have a rough first day. Actually, after the first day I ever fasted like 10 years ago, I threw up after iftar. Yay.
Yeah, so try to eat suhoor, even my hubby who is a tough guy would be super weak if he misses that. He said the 2 times in his life when he missed getting up he had to stay in bed all day because he was so weak.

inshaAllah you'll make it! I'm lugging boxes around all day (ugh!) so I'm thinking it will be straight to bed when I get home to sleep until iftar, lol.

As salaamu alaikum sister, I agree suhoor is soooo important , it can be really difficult if missed . Make lots of Dua's and ask Allah ( SWT) for help & guidance , remember Allah ( SWT) answers our dua's this entire month. Trust in Allah ( SWT) & and you will get through, Insha Allah. Good luck. Take care.( smiles)

I know how hard it can be to be fasting and be at work (where they don't know you are fasting) For example one year our president went out for lunch and brought me back some pizza - he never does that...of course it was during Ramadan so I just said thank you and kept it at my desk for later on when I could eat it (the smell was wafting all afternoon! LOL)
I remember last year it was already quite late till Maghrib and I was dreading it because it was so long...but inshallah your body will adjust to it...but I know it is very difficult!

Hang in there and keep making dua's :)

YA suhoor is a MUST.. and I highly suggest eating 3-4 dates..
if u can get ur hands on some miswak toothpaste... I find this really helps too...it kinda tastes like black licorice. keeps breath fresh for work..and helps with the thrist, I find.
you know since this is ur first Ramadan.. maybe you kinda treat urself as a child and follow how a child does when they start fasting. I will search..see what I can find.

you know there was a seminar in brossard..on Sunday..but I got the email that morning..was about Ramadan and was for those who needed encouragement and help...
this happens all the time about getting info too late to do anything about it. typical arab.. sorry folks..but true

I actually fasted.. or learned how for years before I converted, so I knew exactly what to do.

Anyway hang in there...and do ur best. Its prayers that are really most important incha'Allah. and remember Allah is all merciful. :)

Inshallah you're doing ok with your fasts. It's not easy with the days being so long. But they're going to get shorter as the month goes by.
Just try to drink as much as you can at night and do wake up for suhor inshallah.
We missed suhor the first 2 days, it was sooo bad.
I like to drink some sports drinks, too, since it helps hydrate you better than water can. Maybe it can help you?
I am giving you an award, go to my blog to collect it ;)

Thanks for all your comments. I have been avoiding any response because of how bad it went. And at the same time not that bad. Anyway, I will not get into details, but thanks for your responses!
